Pray For Rain is an original song written by Paper Dolls Band, and Grammy award winning Josh Shilling of Mountain Heart.
Victoria Grace, a nominee for IBMA’s Momentum Vocalist of the Year sings lead on the raw and soulful ballad, produced by Grammy award winning Jim VanCleve.
"We were blessed with the opportunity to write with one of our musical hero’s, Josh Shilling. We came into the co-write with the song title, a few verses and choruses, and our emotions. Josh was quickly able to impact the song with his creative genius. We took it to our producer, Jim VanCleve and tracked the song in the studio as quickly as we could. I think we captured the feeling of holding on to your faith when everything else around you breaks. It is a very honest song, and one of our favorites on the new record to be released," states Bethany Faith, who co-wrote and played fiddle on the song.
Bass player Daniel filmed the music video with the main location being a historic battlefield near Nashville. He describes the technical aspects behind filming the video for Pray For Rain in a detailed YouTube video review.
Bluegrass Today stated "They have a powerful vocal sound in young Victoria who plays mandolin with the group," in a press release interview with the band after the music video was released.
After the release of Pray For Rain, it reached #10 on the Bluegrass Today Grassicana charts, in company with bluegrass stars such as Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle. Paper Dolls is extremely thankful to every single one of our their incredible listeners for streaming Pray For Rain, and would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to DJ's worldwide, for playing it on their radio stations.
